Andrea Bocelli is back at the UN to present his Foundation

NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 8 – Andrea Bocelli returns to the United Nations: the Italian singer will be at UN Headquarters on Monday, December 11, to present the work of his humanitarian foundation, committed to helping people in difficulty due to illnesses, poverty, and social marginalization.

BocelliThe event is organized by the Italian Permanent Representation to the UN. “Empowering Youth through Music” will shed light on the 12 years of activities of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation on the power of music to transcend borders, unite peoples, and empower younger generations.

The founder Bocelli himself and singer-songwriter Giovanni Caccamo, promoter of the Manifesto for Change, will participate: “What would you change about the society you live in and how? What is your word of change?” These are the two questions posed by Caccamo, to which thousands of young people have responded in writing. Each has chosen a word of change and developed a brief treatise summarizing the aspect of society they would change and concrete ideas on how to do it. The Manifesto for Change holds sixty of these.

Andrea Bocelli is at home at the UN. Last year, he met with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, while in 2016, he sang in front of the General Assembly. Two years earlier, he received the UNCA Award, the Association of Correspondents accredited to the UN for the work carried out by the Foundation after the earthquake in Haiti. (@OnuItalia)
