Jordan: agreement with Italy for education and training, in line with the 2030 agenda, is signed

AMMAN, OCTOBER 3RD- An intergovernmental agreement was signed this morning in Amman between Italy and Jordan under which Italian Cooperation will contribute 85 million euros to the education and training of children and young people in Jordan. The agreement, signed by Giorgio Marrapodi, Director General for Development Cooperation of the Farnesina, and the Jordanian Minister for Planning and International Cooperation, Mohammad al Ississ, is part of the 2016-2025 Jordanian national human resources development strategy designed to achieve the sustainable development goals as defined by the 2030 AGENDA, and bring about inclusive economic growth.

The contribution of Italian cooperation will be used to finance initiatives and activities aimed at achieving two main objectives: ensure, by 2025, that all boys and girls have access to quality and inclusive education, and increase, by 2025, the number of young people and adults who have the technical and professional skills required to have access to decent jobs and to the business world.
